"Photographing" an Impress Slide

[Click here to return to parent post: Converting an Impress Presentation to a Video]

Impress has an option that allows you to save a presentation slide in JPEG format, which it the format commonly used by digital cameras. This allows you to edit and use the JPEG "photograph" of the slide in exactly the same ways you would a photo taken with a digital camera.

To create a JPEG image of a slide:

(1) Open the presentation in Impress and make the slide you wish to "photograph" current by left clicking on the thumbnail in the Slides Panel at the left of the screen.

(2) Left click on "File" in the main toolbar and then left click on "Export . . ." in the menu that drops down.

(3) If necessary, rename the JPEG file to be saved and then change the format to "JPEG" in the drop down menu.

(4) Next, navigate to the storage medium on your computer (e.g., hard drive, flash drive, etc.) where you wish to save the image.

(5) In the next menu, increase the quality of the image to be saved to 100%, then left click on "OK."

(6) Repeat the process for as many slides you wish to save as photographic images.
